Really I’m batting 30% at the brownie game. I’ve made some REALLY awful brownies with the pre-made Ghirardelli Brownie Mix. BUT this time, Dec 15, 2022, I created something the Great British Bake Off would shake my hand.
The wife even stored them in the freezer so her friend, visiting for a day, wouldn’t have any.
After this, you’ll be able to humbly/arrogantly say “Your Welcome” to the family. Becoming the GO TO person for brownies. And after you’re done blessing your family…
Now, let me preface the following recipe by reminding you that I WING IT! This was completely by accident, between us, and I was rushing because I was looking after the little one so wanted to it done faster so I could get her to sleep. My wife was doing the actual dinner by the way.
This is for 2 bags of pre-made Ghirardelli Brownie Mix….
The instructions in Google:
Preheat the oven to 325 F.
Grease a baking pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk the egg with the water until combined.
Add the Ghirardelli brownie mix and mix until well blended.
Pour the brownie mixture into the baking pan.
Bake until set and baked through, about 40 to 50 minutes depending on the size of your pan.
Let it cool before serving.
My instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Grease a metal baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Specifically coconut oil spray.
In a large bowl, whisk 2 eggs with milk (2 x ⅓ cups then add an additional quarter to half of the ⅓ cup) until combined. The additional small count of milk will pay off… I think. It did for me.
Add the Ghirardelli brownie mix and mix until well blended.
Pour the brownie mixture into the metal baking pan. Use a spoon to get all of it. And what remains on the whisk and spoon is for you and only you. If the family asks why don’t you share, you let them know that you are just taste testing. Since they haven’t experienced something like this before, you don’t want to ruin the experience for them later. You should really build up the anticipation with no thought of failure. Bu if it does go wrong… no comment.
Bake until set and baked through. No idea what that really means but bake it for 35 minutes on the middle rack. Once the timer goes off, take it out and punch a fork through the center and make sure it is done. The wife says its done when very little choc comes back on the fork.
Let it cool before serving. OR cut it up and dish it out and walk away like a 90s action hero with the explosion of “Thank You’s” behind you.
Don’t do me like that. It was funny. That was a great reference!
Again, just nod or say it’s no big deal and go sit down. Don’t even try it yourself. Just let them enjoy and then eat some after them.
Let the Great Dad Baking Show begin!
